It is a popular celebration, which takes place approximately between February or March of each year in the province of Tungurahua, It is part of the list of the most popular festivals in Ecuador, where there are other festivities celebrated with a different reason. The Fruit and Flower Festival is known as one of the most beautiful festivals around the country. It is the commemoration of the loss suffered by the inhabitants of the city as a result of the earthquake of August 5, 1949. The name of the festival is due to the great local fruit and flower production that coincides with the first months of the year.

Activities.

The Queen of Ambato and the flower Among the typical events is the annual election of a young woman as a symbol of the festivities, who adopts the title of queen. His function is to lead the festivities, although sometimes he tends to extend his role as a philanthropic figure until a successor is chosen. The Fellowship Parade The Fellowship Parade is one of the most important events that takes place during the holidays. Thousands of young people from different educational establishments participate with their war bands and their comparsas, in a random order. The participation of political and institutional authorities stands out. The parade takes place on a Sunday in the main streets of the city; Cevallos and National Unity avenues.
